Internet Providers

There are several Internet providers, and it does not matter if you want dial-up, Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), Cable, satellite or wireless Internet. It also does not matter if you want the Internet for a business, an organization, or for your own individual/personal needs. As the number of Internet providers continues to grow, the market is only making it more convenient and affordable for more people to connect to the Internet. Internet providers can also be known as Internet service providers (ISP) and Internet access providers (IAP).

Most Internet providers do not just offer their customers Internet anymore. Now Internet providers like to offers some extras like, web hosting and domain name service, and what is called proprietary online services. Web hosting can be a nice extra because you are able to put all of your web pages on your Internet service provider’s web server, so that your web pages can be accessed by Internet users. Domain name services are nice because they just help to make sure everything runs smoothly and is translated accurately. Proprietary online services are most usually only offered to a specific Internet service provider’s subscribers/customers, but are a nice extra if you are able to use them with your provider.

All Internet providers charge a fee of some kind whether it is little to nothing or very expensive, and there are some variables that may affect how much you will be paying. Costs do seem to fluctuate depending on what region you live in. Other variables are what kind of connection you have and your modem speed. Your Internet provider may also either charge you by how long you are connected to the Internet or for an unlimited connection after you pay a set rate.
